Proposal and scope in writing

We recommend a package and confirm the exact scope, deliverables, fees and term in a written engagement letter before anything starts.

Onboarding diagnostic

In the first month we review your numbers, systems and priorities, and agree your 90-day plan.

Monthly rhythm

Regular sessions, clear actions and support between meetings keep momentum going.

Quarterly review

Every quarter we measure progress, reset priorities and confirm the package still fits.

Terms in brief

Clear, fair and in writing

A summary only. The full Retainer Terms apply, together with your engagement letter.

Minimum term

Each retainer has a minimum term of 3 months, after which it continues month to month.

Scope confirmed in writing

The services, deliverables, hours and fees for your retainer are confirmed in a written engagement letter. Work outside that scope is quoted separately and only starts once you approve it.

Fees and payment

Fees are billed monthly in advance via PayFast (card or debit) on your subscription date. Altiora is not registered for VAT.

Notice

After the minimum term, either party may end the retainer on 30 days' written notice.

Unused time

Sessions and hours are planned month by month. Unused time can be carried over to the next month only, then lapses.

Travel and third-party costs

On-site visits outside Durban are billed separately. Travel and any third-party costs, such as software licences, are agreed with you in advance.

Independent advice

Where you need legal, tax, accounting, insurance or regulated financial advice, we will recommend that you consult an appropriately qualified professional and work alongside them.

No guaranteed outcomes

We commit to doing excellent work with you. Every business is different, and no particular result, including funding approval, can be guaranteed.

FAQs

Retainer questions

What is the difference between a retainer and a once-off project?

A project solves a defined problem, such as a funding pack or a CRM set-up. A retainer gives you an ongoing partner who helps you set priorities, stay accountable and keep improving month after month. Many clients start with a project and continue on a retainer.

Can I change packages?

Yes. You can move up a level at any time, and move down at the end of your minimum term or by agreement. We review fit at every quarterly review.

Do you work online?

Yes, anywhere in South Africa. We also meet in person in Ballito, Durban, Cape Town and Fourways; on-site visits outside Durban are billed separately.

Is this the same as having an accountant or lawyer?

No. We are business consultants and coaches. We work alongside your accountant, tax practitioner and attorney, and refer you to qualified professionals for regulated advice.

Will you help us get funding?

On the Growth and Partner packages we help you become funding-ready and prepare a strong application. Altiora is not a lender or credit provider; funders make their own decisions and no one can guarantee approval.

How quickly can we start?

Usually within a couple of weeks of your discovery call, once the scope and engagement letter are signed.
