Privacy notice (POPIA)
Your privacy. Our responsibility.
How we collect, use and protect your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. Who we are
The responsible party is Altiora Business Management, a business consulting and advisory practice with offices in Durban, Cape Town and Fourways, South Africa.
Information Officer: Justin Vandayar – hello@altiorawealth.co.za – 074 490 3875.
2. Personal information we collect
- Forms and enquiries: details you submit through our contact, consultation booking, careers and funding application forms – such as your name, email address, phone number, business details, preferred appointment times, funding requirements and, for careers applications, your CV.
- Funding facilitation: business and director information and supporting documents you upload to our Client Portal after signing a Facilitation Agreement.
- Correspondence: information you share with us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Technical information: when you visit the site, your browser automatically sends basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to our web host and to Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on this site. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
- Your privacy choice: we store your acceptance of this notice and the date in your browser’s local storage, on your own device.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a conversation.
- To provide and manage the business guidance, CRM and growth planning services you request.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We will not use your information for direct marketing without your consent, and you may opt out at any time.
4. Lawful basis
We process personal information on the grounds set out in section 11 of POPIA, including your consent, which you give when you submit our contact form. Other grounds are taking steps to conclude or perform a contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in running our business. You may withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers (operators) who help us run our business, such as website hosting and form processing (Netlify), email and CRM software providers, and – for funding applications, with your consent – with the third-party funders relevant to your application. They must keep it confidential and secure. We may also share it where the law requires us to. If any provider stores information outside South Africa, we will make sure adequate protection is in place, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. After that, we securely delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access. These include access controls and secure, reputable service providers. If we have reasonable grounds to believe there has been a security compromise, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.
8. Your rights
As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold your personal information, and request access to it;
- request correction or deletion of personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, excessive or unlawfully obtained;
- object to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
To use any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at hello@altiorawealth.co.za.
9. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
